‘Ilusiones ópticas’ (Optical Illusions): Love, Obsession, Disability and Unemployment

Chilean Cristian Jiménez launches a promising film career with this delightful comedy

Chile’s exports aren’t limited to heroic miners, but good cinema as well. We highly recommend the Chilean comedy Ilusiones Opticas, centered of several characters in the city of Valdivia. They have differing perceptions of life and of themselves. However, their lives are connected through an insurance company undergoing both an image rebranding and a staff overhaul.

FUN FACT: Ilusiones ópticas is the first film for director Cristian Jiménez.

Available on Netflix.
